Privacy Officer Information
eChart Manitoba provides access to key patient health information (PHI) to assist eChart users in providing direct patient care. eChart is a secure clinical system designed to enhance the quality, efficiency and timeliness of patient care while also protecting an individual’s privacy. As a user of eChart Manitoba, you play an important role in maintaining the privacy and security of the PHI you access in eChart Manitoba.
If you are a Privacy Officer at a site that has access to eChart Manitoba, you have a key role in helping the site maintain administrative, physical and technical safeguards to ensure patient privacy while using eChart Manitoba. In addition, you are the liaison between your site and eChart Manitoba Services regarding all privacy-related matters. You are also the individual who may either fulfill or assist your site’s patients with requests to access their personal health information from eChart Manitoba.
