How it Works
eChart Manitoba is a viewable, printable and searchable electronic health record system that provides access to key patient health information. The system depends on information fed from existing electronic systems. These electronic systems are updated at different rates in eChart; some are a continual live feed which means that the information is updated in real time (e.g. some lab results), while other information is updated less frequently (i.e. immunization information from the provincial Public Health Information Management System (PHIMS) is updated once a day).
Each health-care provider has a unique username and password to access the system. All access under this username is the responsibility of the assigned user. All access to information is logged and subject to audits. eChart Manitoba abides by all of Manitoba’s regulatory and legislative standards related to the protection of personal health information including The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA).
More information about eChart Manitoba and your health information rights is available through the office of the Manitoba Ombudsman.
